Debating purchase for Titanfall; seeking advice about 360 vs Xbox1 versions

#1BaronVladzPosted 4/11/2014 12:11:30 PM
I want to play Titanfall, but I don't have a gaming PC, nor want to go that direction. For those of you that know about the two console versions, are there any major differences between the two that significantly affect gameplay? I would be purchasing either a 360 or xbox1 to play as I don't own either consoles right now. Thanks

They are essentially the same. Minor discernible differences.

You're buying a console to play one game?

In the short term, yes. I also own a Wii U and PS4. I have enough disposable income, but at the same time I don't like spending more money just for the sake of spending, so I'm just trying to make an informed decision.

X360 has more chatter and partying up is easier. It runs at a slightly lower framerate and resolution and has worse looking textures, but it still is solid. You can also lock the framerate at 30fps to keep it smooth as possible.

To be honest if there was any game out there worth buying a console for it isn't TitanFall. Having said that if you have the disposable income why wouldn't you just buy the XB1? It's not going to be majorly different but 1: It's obviously going to be better and 2: It'll set you up to not miss any next gen exclusives.

Xbox 360 version has lower quality textures, texture streaming issues (popup), worse frame rates, lower resolution, downgraded effects like lighting, explosions, water, and has to be streamed off the super loud disc drive on the 360 because it needs both the disc and hard drive to stream the textures. Both of the framerate options also effect the control of the game differently, locked at 30 it has slower response, and unlocked it has inconsistent response.

So if you're buying an X1 just to play Titanfall and have little to no interest in games that are only on 8th gen, then don't bother spending the $500 yet.

Find a cheap 360 and pick it up. At least with games with gold you'll get some value with Xbox live Gold, which you'll need to even play tf.
