Microsoft's biggest mistake was aiming for the casual market. They should have aimed for the gamer market, the one that matters the most. Casuals buy what everyone else buys . That's how it works.

Ps4 is way more casual but keep telling yourself otherwise.

How so? It has the better hardware at a lower retail rate? Gamers care about graphics whether you want to admit it or not

Precisely.
Everybody is already buying a PS4, some because it is cheaper, some because it is more powerful, some because it has better games, whatever the reason.
The Xbox One isn't for everyone, just for some very few people with very special needs or people who buy two consoles or more.

Why is this opinion stated like it was a fact?

Excuses for a poorly optimized game.

If you can't get a 10 year old game engine to run well on new hardware, then you have poor developers.

Any game can be fun at any performance level. Some people still have fun with Text based MUDs than playing titanfall. More people play Minecraft and Pokemon than titanfall.

The reason why CoD will stay more popular than titanfall on the Xbox One because of performance. The reason why Titanfall online has dropped since launch is people going back to CoD. Performance issues can make or break a game.

Link that TF dropped kid. Oh wait you never have a clue what you are talking about.

Btw Killzone is not 1080p or 60fps and it is dead. So stop being a pony.

Killzone Shadow Fall is the best selling exclusive on either system so Guerilla Games did their job. Now inFAMOUS will be the best selling exclusive soon. When will Xbox One have a game to compete? Titanfall isn't exclusive so I guess Sunset Overdrive...

Last gen,I gamed mainly on Xbox 360. I think Xbox had the better exclusives, although ps4 had more. Way more. On ps3,I owned only a handful of games, but whatever, both consoles had the game graphics for about every game. This gen,I can't play mostly on Xbox, because it has the inferior hardware. All my games will most likely be on ps4 this gen, because they will look better.

I'm going to repost that for every topic this comes up...how soon people forget.

Most honest post, and I agree accept VR.

Here is the truth...MS sold it's gaming fans off in order to capture a bigger audience... the casual audience... this is undeniable, because the first reveal of it's next gaming machine...had no games...

They focused on cable TV, sports and Call of Duty

It was a big mistake...now they are back peddling and trying to make us believe this machine was made with gamers in mind... it was not

There are a lot of things in XB1 they could have skipped and made the best gaming console... they decided that casual gamers don' t know or care about resolution...then they found that casual gamers in the market for a gaming console want the best bang for their buck...and people interested in football and cable tv have a dedicated cable box to handle that...

So they are trying to turn this dress shoe into a gym shoe... and it's coming up short...

they are doing a horrible job and I don't think they will be able to salvage it...
I am a long time xbox fan, but I won't deny they screwed up majorly... every night theres a different issue with my XB1..and it costs me more...which doesn't make sense...

Only the rabid fanboys try to hang on to a glimmer of hope.. but we are just going to have to be content with a sub par machine for this gen...

realistically MS can flip this around with VR...but they lack the brainpower and knowledge base of WHO THEIR CONSUMER BASE IS...

People who think VR is a gimmick need to do some googling.

I know console only gamers are limited in their thinking...but there is some amazing stuff going on with the oculus rift...

they have amazing demos that have you doing everything from piloting a veritech fighter from robotech to walking the bridge of the voyager...

the reason I think MS can take advantage, and turn the tide with VR? Because every Oculus rift demonstration used a Kinect 1.0...Now the oculus has it's own camera but you better believe no of the VR sets that come out have a camera better than the Kinect....

I remember back in the day people were laughed off Gamefaqs for caring about graphics as much as you all do. I miss those days.

I remember telling those folks that if graphics never mattered wtf are they doing with a next gen console? SNES should have sufficed...

I don't understand why it has to be one or the other...My triple a game have to have immersive graphics, and fun gameplay...you'd have to be a fool to believe LAst of Us would be game of the year if it had an 8-bit palette...

A major part of a video games ability to envelop you have to do with what you see and hear...just like movies...they have to have the ability to suspend your disbelief...you are not playing a video game anymore, you are in this world!

sure super meat boy has it's place...but not in top notch entertainment experiences
