Most intelligent people noted months ago that in the next year or two all the games will be hitting 1080p on both consoles.

Because all games are equal? Ryse =/= Fifa 14. They aren't close to the same fidelity.

How from my post do you get that I'm saying all games will look the same? I said all games in a year or 2 will be running at 1080p.

Is gamefaqs getting dumber or something?

Is this game a primarily single-player experience? Hoping the campaign will be lengthy and awesome.

It's not hard to render many pixels, the xbox did 10 years ago with Enter the Matrix iirc. Virtua Tennis 3 was on 360 too I think.... What's hard is throwing in massive amounts of polygons, AA, light, shadows (dynamic GI for example) and whatever else. You said:

"all the games will be hitting 1080p on both consoles."

That entirely disregards what's happened on the 360 and what's happening now.

http://beyond3d.com/showthread.php?p=1113344

Note how CoD's res generally decreases trading pixels for fidelity. It was never too hard to run yet was still decreasing in res throughout the years. The common sentiment is "once the devs learn how to use the hardware things will get better"..... how come the res didn't increase on the 360 or PS3?

It didn't generally decrease:

Call of Duty 3 = 1040x624 (2xAA)
Call of Duty: Black Ops = 1040x608 (2xAA)
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 = 880x720 (2xAA)
Call of Duty: Ghosts = 1024x600 (2xAA)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare = 1024x600 (2xAA)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 = 1024x600 (2xAA)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 = 1024x600 (2xAA)

Also COD is made by 2 different dev teams. That's how their able to push out so many sequels. One dev team clearly always did 1024X600.

Go ahead and look through your list. The vast majority of games are 720p. I suspect the vast majority of games on the X1 will be 1080p. Not counting indie or small scale stuff.

3 1040x624 -> 4 decrease -> 5 same -> 6 same -> 7 increase -> 8 decrease -> 9 major decrease (last "last gen" game) -> 10 increase 1024x600 (first also on the "next gen"), a decrease on the original.

"I suspect the vast majority of games on the X1 will be 1080p"

How come the game released 7 years later had a lower res? How come all games after the 2006 release had a lower res than the original? Did they not "learn how to use the hardware"?

A shooter with no multiplayer? I don't care for it.

Seriously this... I've never played an off line only shooter that I couldn't complete in less than 10 hours.

How come we are focusing on one series and not the fact that most of the games on the 360 were 720p throughout its life cycle. How come you didn't point out that the last COD game was the same resolution as 3 other much earlier games. Meaning there was no decrease at all, it stayed the same. What was the resolution of call of duty 2?

Why are you pretending that there is any significant change in those resolutions at all? They are all about the same. Get a PC, try all those resolutions out. You will see what I mean.

But meh, there is not point in arguing this. We will know the answer in 1-2 years.

Because the game before those 3 was at a higher resolution..... I don't see how that's supposed to support your point that resolutions will increase if previous games were the same or lower than the earlier games. Wow same resolution as earlier games, that means the same res for future CoD games as Ghosts, unlike the increase you seem to be suggesting with "games will be 1080p".

......... Tired of arguing this. COD is one series. Vast majority of games on the X360 were 720p. I think most the games on the X1 will be 1080p. But hey the wonderful thing is, we can just wait and see.
