YOUR TV setup; can you tell the difference between 720p/1080p?

Yes. Battlefield 4(900p) looks noticeably more blurry than any other game I've bought for PS4.

This

This, why the hell does it matter?...Kids, I swear....

Certainly you aren't suggesting that we should all think the same way you do, are you...as if to say, your way of thinking is right and anyone who thinks differently is wrong?

And, yes, I visit Eurogamer's Digital Foundry for X1/PS4 comparisons.

I have perfect vision. The difference in resolution is minor to the point that it is not really noticeable. At this level the difference in image sharpness is small. The biggest difference is the widescreen forrmat. The widescreen switch is a noticeable change but not a big deal.

I game on a 52 " 1080p plasma

I am surprised because everything looks like crap on a plasma.

I have several TVs from 24-55 and I can tell on EVERY SINGLE one from any distance that it would be even remotely worth watching (or playing from). This has become such a ****ing joke. You all (defenders) must have some busted ass made in Taiwan 1080p* TVs if you cant tell the difference.

*We lied it's not really 1080p LOL.

That chart is pure B.S.

You can stand 15 feet away from a 32" 1440p monitor cycle through three resolutions and clearly see the "full benefit" (lol). According to that chart 1080p would only be "fully beneficial" at less than 6ft away.

Any idiot can use excel to draw some graphs, it doesn't actually mean anything.

It's a subjective topic, and that chart just gives the general idea. From my experience, it's entirely accurate.

Any idiot can give anecdotal evidence, it doesn't actually mean anything.

Pointless thread is pointless. There IS a difference between 720 and 1080p. No one cares if you can or cannot tell a difference (but you can, saying otherwise is a lie unless you have some defect with your eyes) the difference is there. Stop trying to justify the xbones failure. It's downright ridiculous.

it's not hard bruh...if you have no idea what full 1080p is...fire up a Blu-ray movie...the damn thing is crystal clear...

if it's not it won't be crystal clear
the xbox upscales...which means it stretches 720p out to 1080p...which means their will be some degradation

my parents were the same way...they thought digital cable was HD...they said they couldn't tell the difference...I put on a blu ray and it blew their mind

if you cannot tell the difference, you are not looking at 1080p

General rule for me. NO you can't tell difference between 720 and 1080 if your tv is 30 inches or smaller. Should be common knowledge.

Now if you play on huge screen and sit closer, you'll see big differences.
