A human eye can't even really tell a major difference. You guys act like the games are in 4D. Lets be real, we play games for story and enjoyment. Graphics are just icing on the cake.

I'd rather have delicious icing than mediocre icing

720p doesn't matter to much on a 50 inch tv. But if you play on a monitor its a huge difference.

most people use HDTVs. I have a 55 LED 3D samsung and you can't tell the difference in 720 or 1080. All I see out of these arguements is a bunch of sony fanboys starting resolution wars.

but aren't you trying to start a resolution war right now?

Most of these dumb trolls probably don't have a TV bigger then 32" anyways so not much point debating about resolutions...

Maybe you can't see every tiny pixel from a certain distance on a certain size TV depending on if you're male or female, but you can definitely tell when something is rendered in 1080p vs something lower from across the room.

The average size TV (in the US) + The average viewing distance in the US compared with viewing distance charts show that most people are in the range of where they can see the difference/ benefits of 1080p vs 720p. Then (an assumption right here) most gamers are in a smaller gaming room or bedroom which puts them closer to the TV (doesn't matter if it's "healthy").

Then there is framerate.
