I hope it really is a new engine, cods engine is prehistoric. Isn't it a modified version of the quake 3 engine?

Not really, only in the same way that Titanfall is on a modified version of the quake engine.

COD has stuck by the if it aint broke rule for a little too long though. Gonna be good to see them push the boundaries but I'm not expecting anything amazing. I seriously doubt anything we have seen is more than pre-rendered footage, I cannot see the game being as graphically advanced as they are making it out to be and if it is I see them compromising game-play and depth to achieve that goal.

But hey I'm not going to be too cynical, maybe activision can earn my trust back, maybe they can't.

No advertisement or hype from my friends could make me want to pre-order it though.

yes it was. Then they backtracked and said it was just "upgraded"

No matter what happened in the past, it has all worked together to bring you to this very moment. And this is the moment you can choose to make everything new.

Titanfall is using a modified Source Engine.

I have to admit that I am very intrigued by this year's game. That is because of two big reasons.

#1. This year's COD is being developed exclusively by Sledgehammer for the first time. A change in direction from the usual IW/Treyarch trade off. I want to see what the are made of.

#2. This is the first COD that underwent the three year dev cycle. So at this point I am very interested to see what they set out to do.

I don't see why they would have to sacrifice the style of campaign and mp the series has now? The campaigns aren't the deepest and mainly full of set pieces and the mp compared to say Battlefield is lite on everything.
