Xbox One was designed with an eye on the future

I'm confused, I thought the future was media based? You know, all in one machine?

But it's already been stated by developers the xbox one is not as developer friendly because of things like the ESRAM. Don't understand how a console with lesser hardware would be able to close the gap versus hardware that is better.

This is old, but good read:

The sony guys can't even let a multiplat dev say something positive about the x1. This place is beyond repair.

Sorry, but my position stands even when it comes to when they say a Sony game looks better.

That's nice that you thought I was talking about your posts. I wasn't. I was referring to all the people that jump in every positive topic, pout, stomp their feet, and scream "that's impossible" on a daily basis. None of you are on the level of understanding these machines like the people working with them. It's hilarious to see all the posts where everyone pretends to be IT guys.

While I agree with you on this immensely when talking about the gaming community at large...it really is a logical conclusion that a lower budgeted developer would not be able to push either console as far as they currently can be as much as a developer that has a higher budget...it's only reasonable to assume the higher budgeted developers would know a bit more about the consoles than their lower budgeted counterparts.

You don't need to be an IT Director to have common sense & reasoning.

@garcia_jx

Yeah such a great read,
that's why we're seeing xboxone hit 1080p 60fps on every game instead of reading articles about it being possible... Oh wait.

I'm not a computer guy. I know basic programming stuff. Sure the budget matters but wouldn't it also depend on the skill of the programmer and what they were trying to accomplish? Not all games with big budgets are created equal.

Wolfenstein The New Order is running off a 2011 id tech 5 engine. A engine build solely for fps.

Microsoft's now scrambling trying to get the Xbox One to be an "all gaming console" after their strategy of taking over the living room has failed.

Well this is out and in the open, get ready for insecure and depressed Sony fanboys to raid this thread. This also explains why Ryse is the best looking next generation game by far.

best looking game...900p LOL
Go 1080p native like a NextGen Game should be and it looks directly a lot worse
Infamous Second Son is the best looking game =)

@Designed for the future
Yeah the future is doing 1080p and more easily like the PS4...Not just barely reaching 720p with 10 year old engines like Titanfall xDDD

Xbawks is so good. I hope a church is built dedicated to it. And have the pope bless it.

For the glory and the power (of the clouds) are yours, now and forever. Amen.

I do agree that would matter as well, but budget for the most part buys time & talent. When you look at their previous work, there has been nothing since their founding in 2009, and even when you look at the work of Starbreeze Studios (whom has former members working for MachineGames) there is nothing truly note worthy. There is absolutely nothing to indicate there is any significant talent.

I'm am not saying Wolfenstein is going to be a garbage game, but history suggests they don't really have the talent, budget, or experience over the larger budget, talented & well versed development studios...to be suggesting that those studios are wrong in suggesting the PS4 has more of a future than the XB1 and they are right in suggesting the XB1 is built with the future in mind and the PS4 is not.

I am not saying they are right or wrong, please do not take that away from what I am trying to say. I am merely saying they really aren't the right sources to be drawing that conclusion from based on their history. If there were to be a steady trickle of word coming from developers such as Take Two, Ubisoft, and the such...then I would take a little more plausibility in what they say. I would even take more creedance & find it even more plausible if there were independent techies saying such things as well.

This goes for the Sony Playstation as well. I am not taking the word of companies that have exclusive contracts or are small developers with limited history. I hold them to the same scrutiny that I do the XB1. The growing problem however is that Sony is starting to be able to put a lot of multiplat titles under their belt as performing superior. I think it's to early to declare the Playstation the superior console, and I really don't think we will have a real good sample to tell which is the superior console until we hit at least the 1 year mark...and we should have a solid idea after the 2nd year mark.
