First, beginning on June 9th, in all markets where Xbox One is sold, we will offer Xbox One starting at $399*. This is a new console option that does not include Kinect. For $399, our new Xbox One offering will continue to deliver access to the best blockbuster games like “Titanfall,” “Call of Duty: Ghosts,” “Forza Motorsport 5,” “Dead Rising 3,” and the upcoming “Watch Dogs,” “Destiny” and "Sunset Overdrive."
You know, if I buy an Xbox One...I'll still get the Kinect. Still, for those who didn't want it, great!
***EDIT*** Let me guess - everyone who was complaining about how Microsoft is "attacking gamers by creating an NSA Spycam and making everyone purchase it!" will now be complaining about how Microsoft is "abandoning their early adopters and making yet another 180".

Still doesn't help them/ Ok, they're same price for now, but one is still weaker, and just neuterred it's thing that made it unique. It's good for folks who held off due to price, but public perception is where they've been hurt the most. A move like this smells of desperation, and isn't likely to help much in that regard.
