Lads in work today were saying the XB1 is going to be able to play 360games? is there any truth to this?

There was a video online from the Microsoft company meeting last year where it showed they were working on streaming games to other devices. I think they showed Halo 4 on a phone. So maybe they are thinking of that?

If the recent actions by MS are telling, then yes they will definitely be making efforts toward BC due to PS Now

I'm hoping so, i remember reading something a few weeks ago something about an emulator for the XB1 to play 360 games.

Let's hope they do not follow Sony with that one.

Didn't MS show Halo 4 on the phone before Sony announced PS Now..? So technically, Sony is copying MS.

But neither will take from the other since OnLive was doing it before them and still probably wasn't the first to stream video games.

Sony only gave it the name "PS Now" in January. They had already been talking about it for quite some time, and we were referring to it as Gaikai. Even that first article you quoted mentions this.

Other articles that I saw on that Halo 4 demo also indicated that, while possible, full implementation of that sort of game streaming would be technically difficult (which is why Sony bought Gaikai rather than developing it in-house).
