GTA IV and Resident Evil 6 were both kind of "meh" in my opinion. RE6 was hyped and purposely marketed as the series' savior and return to it's horror roots....and nope. And then GTA IV, well, that's obvious: The game that went out of it's way to avoid making you play it.
But the biggest sting in the past 10-15 yrs for me was Too Human. Looked soooooo good, was hyped like crazy, appeared to be incredibly deep and rich.....and then the demo came out. Dreams shattered. --- Best games of last gen: Mass Effect series & Bioshock series \m/ (O_o) \m/ Yes, I bought a Wii U, and I still don't know why.
As I said in a previous topic, I made the decision to jump to next gen at launch during e3 last year based on Watch Dogs and Star Wars 1313 (and of course the games that would continue coming out). One got delayed and the other cancelled.
*fingers crossed* --- ALL games should have a Single Player mode. I can always guarantee I want to play when I turn on my system. I can't guarantee others will at the same time.
Though actually I was expecting it to suck when it was announced, but some multiplayer gameplay a month or so before release got me intrigued, and then the reviews were saying it was actually pretty good, so I picked it up on launch day.
Campaign was pretty solid but God damn the multiplayer to hell --- http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb289/volcaitlin/gifs/dancning.gif
