Microsoft has admitted to Eurogamer that the new, cheaper Kinectless Xbox One has "up to 10 percent additional GPU performance," simply by virtue of system resources that no longer have to be reserved for the motion-sensing peripheral.

And, just as another thread states:

TBONE_OG posted
Phil Spencer: June Xbox One Software Dev Kit......Gives devs access to more GPU bandwidth. More performance, new tools and flexibility to make games better.

So what does that mean for those who already have the X1 with Kinect? Are early adaptors screwed out of 10% GPU performance? Or is it simply a matter of turning off your Kinect when you play a game?

How does that work? Will a game that uses the power say "turn off your Kinect"?

So many weird things about this. A lot of questions.

That really changes nothing.

By raw power alone PS4's GPU is 40% stronger than Xbox one's GPU, so technically PS4's GPU was 50% STRONGER when Xbox One GPU was using 10% for Kinect.

Hardly news. We've known for pretty much ever that there's a certain amount of gpu processing time reserved for doing Kinect work.

That's pretty interesting. It definitely creates fragmentation of those who use kinect vs. those who don't.

Surely it has to be flexible and can't be forced?

Lol so the kinectless sku will run better than the kinect one lol.

I see lots trading theirs in for the kinectless
