How can I boost update download speeds?

#11Sith JediPosted 6/5/2014 1:27:44 PM
5.85mbps (assuming you didn't mean MB/s) is fairly slow. My phone just got 5.78mbps with bad signal.

But just to be sure, run a speed test on the Xbox. You can do it somewhere in the network settings and I'm guessing speedtest.net works through IE. See if it comes it any slower than other devices on the network.

It's just starting to drop from peak time in the UK, it's up to 9.5 now haha and heres the results:

Speedtest - 9.5 download/0.65 upload.
X1 - 1.02 download/ 0.75 upload.

Well, that's a massive difference...

Have you tried a hard reset of you're xbox? Sometimes it gets slow after being on a long time.

If it's not that, then it has something to do with how your router connects or something. Call Xbox support and they may be able to help.

Currently hard resetting it just now. The internet runs slow if I just tap the button so it must still be trying to download in the background.

I genuinely thought this was working, but the internet just took a bit longer to get affected :(

Yeah. 9.5 Megabits per second (Speedtest results) is roughly 1.1 Megabyte per second. Aka very slow

So out of wired and wireless, wireless seems to be the best choice for a bit more speed and less affecting of the network :/ guess I'm gonna have to wait this out!

In comparison right now. My internet is roughly 664 Mbps DL and 480 Mbps UL or 83 megabytes/sec and 60 megabytes/sec respectively.
