Why do people care about stories in video games?

I play video games to have fun. Haven't even touched a COD campaign in ages. If I wanted to watch a movie, I'd watch a movie or read a book.

If you don't care about story, then why skip the COD games?

Because game makers started putting pretty cool stories in their games.

Why read a good story when you can play one?

Why bother putting stories in movies if action scenes are more fun? :u
