Crytek is in financial trouble. RYSE development was a disaster

That's what they get for putting all their eggs in one basket (betting solely on XBOne).
They should've made Ryse multi-platform (XBO/PS4/PC).

That's not how game development works. If your publisher is Microsoft, you're not going to be releasing it as a multiplat.

Crytek is a horrible developer, if anything they should just make engines but even then, the engine only handles great graphics and terrible gameplay

They have an all profit, no loss title in TimeSplitters Trilogy running on CryEngine and yet they refuse to take the month or two it would take to get it out the door. The engine is complete, all the content for the game is complete and yet they refuse to release it.

Then again, releasing a widely loved FPS game with a Map Editor has become heresy in this era of gaming.

Widely loved is pushing it. The reason the series was discontinued originally is because the last iterations didn't do well and ended up costing more than they made.

You do realize putting a time splitters trilogy in cry engine would mean remaking the games from the ground up, and cost a hefty amount. And would take a lot longer then a few months

Neogaf link posted as the source, nothing to see here folks.

Oh, now you're back to hating Neogaf. It changes every week, so you'll forgive me for losing track.

What are you talking about? I've never thought a biased forums site would have credible information.

Sure you arent just mad at NeoGaf for leaking every major Xbox One hardware and software announcement of 2014 way back in January?

Not necessarily.

They reported a $400 disc drive less X1 to release in Nov. that didn't happen.

They reported Halo HD would include the first three games' single player, and only 2's MP. Halo: Master Chief Collection includes the main 4 games' campaigns and a combination of all four multiplayer experiences with every map from the series.

They reported an X1 exclusive Forza Horizon 2. The game is indeed multiplatform with the 360 version being cheaper.

I know there was a lot more that they reported and got wrong, but those are the ones that stuck out. Essentially they took rumors that were already flying around and put their own spin on it as an "insider's report" and everyone believed every single word they said.

Every game they mentioned was unannounced and every single game they mentioned became announced. They knew the storyline for Sunset Overdrive well before any details were announced. They leaked three bundles/price drops before they were announced.

But because every single detail wasnt exact and the leaks came out a half year earlier, it was wrong and they are just frauds who are good at guessing. Didnt Microsoft remove a lot of "features" and even some hardware from the Xbox One since its initial reveal? How is that in any way different from the NeoGaf leaks?

I am talking about a source port, which would not take long at all for a company like Crytek to make. And no, they literally would not have to create or remake one, not one single asset of the original three games. Thats why it's called a source port, not a remake and like most source ports, modern visual enhancements can easily be implemented. In this case, all the features CryEngine has to offer.

You really think Crytek is failing because they made one game for Microsoft? Not the millions they spent on a F2P FPS that's only popular in one county? Not the sub par sales of the last games they released? Not the fact that they keep making a new engine that no one ever licenses?

Do you even know what you are talking about?
