Crytek is in financial trouble. RYSE development was a disaster

The only reason i'd believe crytek is in trouble is because of their inability to license their engine. Thats a ridiculously expensive business to maintain when you have next to no customer base. Especially as every publisher that matters at this point have their own personally developed in-house engines and unreal can be purchased in its entirety for 20 bucks a month for the indies that are interested.

Crtek's stuff always looks fantastic, but all you ever hear is that their 'genius' guys are writing jedi level code magic--across several different programming languages and dx versions-- to get their stuff to look good: you never hear anything about how easy cryengine is to work with...i'd imagine that cant be that great for business, either.

Ryse was a great game and a great first experience with my xbox one. I would love a new entry. Ryse was good but has the potential to be amazing

Completely agree. They need to do what Ubisoft did from ACI to ACII. Listen to your fans and turn a very good game into a stellar franchise. The foundation is there if they do it right.

I will try and see it from your point of view, but I doubt we'll be able to fit both our heads up there.

#36, are you seriously defending NeoGAF? The place that CliffyB said the following about:

"NeoGAF, I'll let you in on a secret. Most of the (hundreds) of developers I know avoid you like the plague and think you're mostly c**ts."

CliffyB is a big dummy. NeoGAF is the single most solid source of information in video games press.

Well...now you being wrong about everything 24/7 makes a little more sense.

see what happened to them when they got too close to MS, a big mess

You really think Crytek is failing because they made one game for Microsoft? Not the millions they spent on a F2P FPS that's only popular in one county? Not the sub par sales of the last games they released? Not the fact that they keep making a new engine that no one ever licenses?

Do you even know what you are talking about?

No he doesn't, he/it/she spends the day using the google machine every hour to search for something negative related to the Xbone, then proceeds to make useless topics like so, followed by his support crew to keep it bumped.

Ryse was a crappy game to begin with, all aesthetics, horrid storyline, microtransactions, uninspired gameplay, quicktime event after quicktime event. It would be an IP worth giving away for free.

That might be true if it was a good game. Unfortunately its not. We definitely don't need a sequel.

Doesn't Ryse require like 9GB of mandatory updates when you get it now? Compared to 9MB or less being standard on 360, that's beyond ridiculous. Unless we see some kind of complete edition of this and DR3, I don't see myself bothering with either.

Cliffy B... Hmm, how to address this guy.

Well, first off, anyone that gives themselves the name Cliffy B, you know you're dealing with a real "special guy".

Next, he was an intern and got lucky to be attached to "Gears" franchise in the beginning when other people were doing the driving. When it came his time to shine, he directs Gears 3 & 4 and crash lands the franchise, then goes in a media tour to berate and blame others and is forced to retire for basically gouging the customer for charging DLC skins on the same weapons! Just a skin change = $$ to this guy, thereby pissing everyone off and forgetting to actually make a good game!!

.

You make being wrong seem easy.
