Here is a some more info about the Games with Gold program on Xbox One:

I took a picture of the "Important changes to Xbox Live Gold" announcement on my Xbox One and it states in the fine print that: "Bonus Games Offer: For paid member only. 1 Xbox One and 2 Xbox 360 games/month." http://i.imgur.com/Ggpl2y4.jpg

This could indicate that the program debuted with 2 games last month; one of which will still be available this month (Max). It is similar to how they gave 3 games in June on the Xbox 360; it was just to celebrate the one year anniversary of the program.

In addition, this image was on the Microsoft GwG page after they announced that Max and Halo were going to be free, which clearly shows that Max would be free until August 3rd: http://i.imgur.com/wbfRhfo.png

In fact, Phil Spencer announced that the program was coming to the Xbox One by stating that, "We’re pleased to bring Games with Gold to Xbox Live Gold members on Xbox One in June. Members will have subscription-based access to free games ranging from top hits to breaking indie stars. The program will launch on Xbox One with “Max: The Curse of Brotherhood” and “Halo: Spartan Assault.” A single Gold membership will get you access to the free games for both Xbox One and Xbox 360."

- Notice how it makes no mention of how many games we will actually be getting each month; just that it kicks off with those two and that we need paid subscriptions to access our free games.

However, I did manage to find this on the Xbox One support page for Games with Gold, and under the "What is Games with Gold?" heading it states that, "We want to thank our Xbox Live Gold members by providing two free game downloads a month. The Games with Gold program started in June 2013 for Xbox 360 members and will expand to include Xbox One in June 2014."

Now the support page clearly does mention that they are providing two free games per month; however, it is just talking about the program as a whole without telling us how it will actually expand to the Xbox One. For all we know, the program will continue for now by making the games we get each month overlap. For example, maybe Guacemelee will be free for two months while a new game will take the place of Max in the beginning of August.

I would but that whole post is all just speculation. There is nothing to suggest that those are the facts. Some of the links could very well be outdated, especially when you factor in all the policy changes that the Xbox team has made over this past year.

I was pretty sure we only get one X1 game a month. I thought Max was a bonus.

If he did, I'd request a sticky...the one TC tried to scrape together is pretty bad.
