and nothing of value was lost, ryse would easily win worst game of the year award if it was not for the rambo game released earlier this year

I'm not surprised. I'm pretty sure MS asked Crytek to just make them a game with pretty graphics that showcased the jump between 7th gen and 8th gen. they probably said they couldn't care less about story or gameplay. Because both of those sucked...

I can't imagine anyone actually wanting to buy the IP. someone could just start from scratch and make another ancient European war game... you don't need Ryse to do that. if anything Ryse would just make it harder because now they'd be trapped with the Lore created in Ryse

My guess would be that making a Kinect-only game that worked well just wasn't within Crytek's capabilities and after a while Microsoft realised this (and saw that the original Kinect was winding down anyway) and told them to swap over to Xbox One and make it shinier and get it working with a controller.

If it hadn't been in development forever it would have been more profitable too.

That's really too bad as it will be another game that I really like that I will never be able to play a sequel to. This sucks because most gamers out there don't know a really good and well made game even if it would kill them with tons of warning signs to help them out to see it.
Oh well, crap.

Sucks for people who liked Ryse... me? I don't really care. Now Dragon's Dogma 2, that's the sequel I'm hoping for.

Funny, if Ryse was a terrible game, so were any of the Crysis games. They're not bad games, they're games that look really good and are fairly solid all around but they just don't have the it factor. Ryse was ok because it was trying to be something different. Same thing with TitanFall. everything seems to be there for it to be a good game but something is just missing.
