Xbox One Gaming Headset - What do you use?

#1DoggiesLipstickPosted 7/9/2014 11:20:25 PM
Well i am about to buy a a gaming headset but after looking at Xbox one specific headsets im far from buzzed.

So my question is this: The 360 sets looked far more compelling so do i get an older pair of beaches etc and buy the extension? or do i just go for an Xbox One pair?

These are the best Xbox one sets i could find ...

1. Polk 4 Shot - http://goo.gl/ZtJlHq - 87.83 / $149

2. Turtle Beach XO Seven - http://goo.gl/7td1Qc - 100 / $170

3. Turtle Beach XO Four - http://goo.gl/zPPI1d - 69 / $118

4. Turtle Beach Titanfall Ear Force Atlas - http://goo.gl/3sgQ6e - 79 / $135

5. Astro A50 - http://goo.gl/TFHgBt - 200 - 400 / $340 - $680

Now 360 versions are a touch cheaper but look nicer. Anyone know what performance is like on Xbox one sets? compared to 360 sets?

I recommend Turtle Beach Tango if you can get them at a good price (but you would need the talk bakc cable).

Other options are Tritton 720+ and A40 (A40>>>>>A50)

You could also wait as TB is about to release some headsets that will be completely wireless.

From what I've heard the Polk, Titanfall Atlas, XO seven and 4 are not that good btw.

Im just going by user reviews .. I'v personally not tried any of these. I don't want to pay more than 120 / $200 on a set. Whats everyone else using?

I have the XO 4's and love them but I am not an audiophile so maybe they are a bit more harsh on them then I would be.

I will try and see it from your point of view, but I doubt we'll be able to fit both our heads up there.

I have seen absolutely nothing about the "Xbox One" headsets that indicate that it uses anything more than 2 channel audio for games.

So I would stick with last-gen headsets and use adapters instead.

Personally, I'm using the DSS2 for game audio and Astro Mixamp for audio audio, along with Sennheiser PC360 headphones.

Go with the polks unless you wanna dish out the money for astro's. I bought the Titanfall ones, they are the XO4's with a paint job. I got a headache every time i wore them, they just squeeze your head way to tight. I traded them for my Polk's and love them. They have a really good design that looks more like a Traditional pair of headphones over some ugly bulky thing. They also work on your PC, Ipad, Ipod, Phone and whatever else it fits. Turtle beaches on the other hand had wires covering my floor. The Polks are also really light and well made compared to the TB's being plastic junk.

The Xbox one forum should be called the "Xbox vs Ps4" forum.

Astro A50

Great sound and can be extremely loud. Mic is clear.
