I tried using my Xbox One without Kinect, but it is just so cumbersome.

The UI is plain awful without Kinect.

I always used my X1 without kinect no issues for me seemed simple. I never used the tv feature though.

If all you use the One for is gaming then the voice commands are pretty pointless. I use my One though as my media device, so I'm always using voice controls to snap between gaming, netflix, and TV. Not to mention the TV functions like xbox mute, play, pause etc. It saves battery life for my controller lol

I think this speaks more to the Xbone's poor UI than the Kinect's inherent utility.

yeah, xbone needs to fix UI and get rid of kinect to free up resources for dev. otherwise, it is just dead weight

"Xbox Record That"

That's the only thing my Kinect is good for.

Hehe...Once again..."people" (and I use that term lightly) that have never used it are the most vocal against it

That reddit comment was so on the spot.

I will try and see it from your point of view, but I doubt we'll be able to fit both our heads up there.

Random question. My friends tell me that X1 takes a lot of power to run. Is that mainly due to the Kinect?
