Why do you think the X1 is having a hard time selling even with a price drop?

If it's continuing to sell better than the 360 then they're doing well.

It's not. It only sold better than the 360 during launch and the following holiday period thanks to a much larger initial supply but sales have dropped rapidly since.

People still don't seem to realize all that online/drm s*** is gone, I had my cousin ask me about it the other day. In reality, you'd think both would be selling like that until more only on xb1/ps4 games came out, but xb1 just had that bad of a pr hit.

People who knew about the DRM know its gone. But they are also aware that turning it off was just flipping a switch, meaning turning it back on again will be just as easy.

What switch? o_O Also, after being hammered by the media for DRM and having their own fanbase hate them, as well as not selling as much as the PS4, why in the world would they turn it back on? Your posts sucks.

Do new Xbones require the day-one patch to get rid of the DRM check-in? Or have the machines made after the initial launch batch not have to have it removed? If they are still having to disable the feature, there is always the worry they will use it again, otherwise why is it still there.

Stay classy.

What's to stop Sony from saying hey we have this large install base now you let's give drm a shot. All they have to do is put it in an update and what's to stop Nintendo from it as well.

MS are the only ones who actually tried to pull that off. You're defending them for no good reason.

Serious question:

What makes people think that Xbox One being released in more countries will significantly close the gap with the PS4? I won't deny there will be a smaller gap after but I doubt it's what people here are expecting.

PS3 caught up to Xbox360 because of world wide sales(PS3 was being crushed in US & UK) - which means world wide the Playstation generally sells more outside the Xbox's primary markets.

So, now selling several million units is considered "poor"?

Oh well. Guess I can't enjoy my Xbox now, because it's not selling faster than PS4.

Well, to be fair, a lot of people thought they weren't going to put online behind a paywall.
Those people were dumb, of course, but you never know. It would be really, really stupid/suicidal after XB1s backlash, though, especially when they already have so much trouble outside PS4.

The Dreamcast sold millions of units, too, before Sega pulled the plug.

Dreamcast wasn't the problem.Sega's issues dated back years before then.
If XB1 is the next DC games wise, that'd be pretty great though.

Customer faith was irrevocably shaken after the X1 reveal and the disastrous E3 showing last year.
