What else do you think Microsoft can do at this point?

It's pretty clear that Microsoft entered this gen with the Xbox One to be the industry leader and dominate sales, but they had no idea the PS4 would be such an appealing product or even that it'd be more powerful than the Xbox One. Since then they have done countless reversals, all of which have definitely helped sales, but their biggest moves like Titanfall being a console exclusive and now the $399 SKU still have not stopped the PS4 from outselling it in every region. Most notable NA, which was the driving force of Xbox sales last gen.

Whats the next thing that MS can do at this point? Halo 5 is more than a year away which is the next real game changer, but by then it'll be up against Uncharted 4. I really think MS should not have slept on 2014, it's still early, but look at the gap that continues to increase between the Xbox One and PS4

It's bizarre how whenever MS has a really good month and Sony on the other hand does absolutely nothing, PS4 still curbstomps the bone. Halo is the only chance now but I legitimately believe it will at best allow Xbone to outsell PS4 for a month or two.

And when Sony finally brings out its own big guns...
Bloodbath incoming.

They can keep selling Xbox One, release in Japan and other territories around the world, and provide games people want to play.

The gen just started. Relax. MS doesn't need to beat Sony.

Either a line up of really good exclusives (more than just Halo 5) or a significant price cut ($300).

Their biggest issue right now, is that people know the hardware isn't as good as the PS4 from all the multi platform games and the fact that people still remember they tried to make video games worse for everybody with their 24hour DRM crap.

Look how far behind the PS3 was and how they managed to turn that around.

Listen man, its the 3rd console curse. Thats all.

Overconfidence. Overestimates of consumer loyalty. Lack of focus on what made prior system exceptional. Out of touch with potential customers. Blah blah blah.

It took Sony 2 years + to start coming back from one of the largest tech blunders of all time.

MS has managed to more or less rid themselves of the majority of the negatives in less than one year. Word of mouth, stronger software titles and features will help elevate the platform.

People seem to forget. Its not like the One isn't selling. Its just not selling as well as the competition. Currently.

To answer your question the next thing MS can do is support more developers and their unique ideas. Secure must own exclusives and make a new Viva Pinata game.

Yes they do actually, they invested billions for that very reason alone. Microsoft was on the brink of become the industry leader with the Xbox brand being the new PlayStation, but that crumbled when they announced the Xbox One.

Microsoft and it's investors arent going to be happy being beat-out by the PS4 in ever conceivable way, it's a huge problem. Especially with the possibility of the Xbox One selling significantly less than the Xbox 360 did

They specifically said that they want to just beat Sony? Can I get a source on this because that just sounds stupid for them to outright say that.

Releasing in Japan is probably the worst idea. Console gaming is dying in Japan, and the PS4 is actually selling pretty similar to the Wii U right now. And Japan HATES to Xbox. The Wii U surpassed the 360's lifetime sales with only 2 years on the shelf (compared to the 360's 7).
