I heard they were trying to do video messaging and it was taking away from getting voice messaging out quicker.

Because Every company will say that they're listening to their consumers, because saying they don't will cause negative publicity.

Hint; very few companies listen to consumers unless their wallets talk like the original Xboxone's reveal, Most of them hire people making 6 figures to "analyze" the market, most of the time, they're looking into ways to extract more money with less overhead, not what's best for consumers.
