I read you can play pvp with everyone having the same weapons and gear so no one has an advantage and it's all about skill. How do i do that?

You read wrong. However, some of the bonuses you get from campaign aren't available in crucible. You have all of your abilities, but none of the upgrades for those abilities. There's no option for playing crucible where everyone has the same gear.

I may be wrong about the abilities, but the last line is true.

In standard Crucible games, Level advantages are removed and weapon damage is normalized across the board, though Bungie has yet to detail exactly how weapon stats like ” impact” apply to standard PvP. This makes it easy for any player to jump in, regardless of their progress in PvE.

In short, Crucible already doesn't give anyone an advantage.

Well that was a special limited event.

@pnut. I don't know about armor. I'd assume it was normalized as well. I haven't noticed any enemy players that were harder to kill than others.
