I think they should work with the adapter.

What's got me confused is how to plug em into the console.

on my 360 they use the composite output. Xbone doesn't have composite anything.

I should probably just google it; dunno why that didn't occur to me.

You can plug it straight in to the headphone jack on your TV. (assuming your TV has a headphone jack)

The USB power might be a bit trickier, depending on the location of your TV's headphone jack and USB ports. (assuming you have a TV with USB ports, if not the X1 should have a few, right? :P) A USB extender should be able to help with this though. Or an audio extender, whichever.

i know what u mean, best option you have... find the earphone jack on your tv or audio output (hopefully has one) and plug it there.

but the second you can i would recommend upgrading to even the xbox one wireless headset, its night and day man...

Time to update your TV I'm thinking. I've been using my Turtle Beach headset (which I think is an X12 actually...but I'm not sure offhand) with my Xbox One since launch over optical. You can chat with it now with the adapter as well.

yeah I screwed myself. but I would hate buying a new tv for 10x as much as a compatible headset, especially because my tv is only a few years old.

I should probably just wait for sales on headsets.

You could just use the optical out of the Xbox One. It's generally better that way than when fed through the TV first. You just need one of the little DSS2 boxes and an optical cable.

holy ****, $70 just for the dss2?

I may as well just get the MS stereo headset. Cheaper and simpler.
