They've always done this when you trade consoles in. At least where I live.

Edit: I've never seen it happen with games, though.

Why? What the hell does this really do to you that restricts you to go there?

This shouldn't be a problem for anyone unless they're a thief who is selling stolen games/consoles. At that point, you need to get caught anyway.

I think it's odd, once a criminal finds out their fingerprint needs to be taken they will find some other way to get rid of the games, meanwhile some ordinary people who are just looking to get rid of some un wanted games feel like they are being treated like criminals. And it's not mandated by the state so it's even stranger.

I worked there for about 6 years (last time was about 11 years ago) and we never took a single fingerprint.

My thought is no one with any self-respect or brains has set foot in one of those gross pawn shops in years, so anyone effected by this brings it on themselves.
