Console Exclusive

Timed Exclusive

PC/Console exclusive

All pretty self explanatory. As of right now No Man Sky is a PC/Console exclusive just like Titanfall is. How hard is that to understand?

But it's not console exclusive as it's on the X1 and 360.

It's a console exclusive because it's not on PS4 or Wii U. The 360 is not competing with the One, so why would they care? Basically, right now, an "exclusive" is a game on the One, but not on the PS4, or vice versa. Neither care about the PC, last gen or, quite frankly, the Wii U.

There's different types of exclusives.

Xbox One exclusive = only on Xbox One
Microsoft exclusive = only on Xbox One and/or Xbox 360 and/or PC

PS4 Exclusive = only on PS4
Sony exclusive = only on PS4 and/or PS3 and/or PC and/or PS Vita

Nintendo and Microsoft exclusive = on everything except Sony systems

Multiplatform = on different consoles created by all the 3 big companies (Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft)

Titanfall is Microsoft exclusive. It is only on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. It is not on PS4, PS3, or the Wii U.

Microsoft has no stakes in PC gaming unless it is a game they developed themselves and riddle me this, if Titanfall comes to mac OSX like many other PC games is it still Microsoft exclusive? No it is not the PC is its own platform.

Yes it is as it's not on PS consoles. That is my definition of PC/Console exclusive is if it's on say PC, X1, and 360 then that is a PC/Console exclusive for it not being on PS consoles. Same goes for PS games that are like it. Titanfall could be considered a MS exclusive as it's only on MS platforms.

People are way too specific with the term exclusive. I think the term should be applied more broadly, to the companies themselves. If only one corporation is getting the content, then it's still exclusive even if it's spread across many of that same companies devices. The way I see it, these are the main kinds of exclusives:

- Sony Exclusives - Anything released solely on any combination of Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and/or Playstation Vita

- Microsoft Exclusives - Anything released solely on any combination of Xbox 360, Xbox One, and/or Windows OS

- Nintendo Exclusives - Anything released solely on any combination of Nintendo Wii, Nintendo Wii U, and/or Nintendo DS/3DS

- PC Exclusives - Anything released solely on any combination of Windows, Linux, and/or Mac

This guy gets it!

An exclusive game is a game that is only available on one platform. If you try to qualify it as something else (i.e. console exclusive - Planetside 2 on PS4/ MS exclusive - Titanfall) then you're a fool as you take away the whole exclusive nature of an exclusive.

It's not right though. Nothing in the universe ever has a flat blanket meaning.
