eternal darnkess remake

If anyone has ever played the gamecube exclusive "eternal darkness" then they know the mechanics were epic. It's basically a resident evil/alone in the dark type game where you play different characters throughout time, and you have to fight these monsters. You have a health meter, a mana meter for spells where you combine different runes to form different spells, and an insanity meter. That's right, an insanity meter. By far the coolest mechanic I've ever seen. How it works is everytime you see a monster the meter drops. As it drops you slowly lose your sanity and start experiencing horrific things, hallucinations such as your head falling off, you shrinking, the entire room being upside down etc. But by far the coolest aspect of the insanity meter is, not only does it mess with your character, it messes with you the gamer. The coolest ones that spring to mind are: "seeing" a fly walk across the tv, the volume turning up or even muting on its own, the tv turning off, and the scariest one is when you save your game it says "game deleted, restarting". Of course none of these things are happening but it's freaking awesome. Now think about this, with the xbone being integrated with the tv, it could actually do these things. Throw in the kinect to mess with you and you have one of most epic remakes ever.

Copied my post from another topic so I wouldn't have to retype. Would anyone buy this? The original was an amazing game that should have had way more hype, and a remake done in this way would be awesome.

I was about 14 when the original game came out. Let me tell you that it was a horrific game indeed. So good tho. I would buy this day one.

The devs have repeatedly failed crowd funding for a reason. They're sketchy as hell with some of the worst management in the industry. Eternal Darkness was a fluke. No investors will give them money again and even crowd funding won't work for them so the only way we could see this is if they sell off the IP to a competent dev studio (which is unlikely to happen.).

The commercial says that Church isn't for perfect people, I guess that's why I'm an atheist.

Oh they've tried? I was unaware of that, I'll have to look into it. That's a shame that they are that horrible at management, the game was epic and could be again.

A good game is a good game, regardless of system, res, framerate, and sales. Same goes for systems.

No, not a shame. Had it been successfully funded who knows where the money would have gone, that article barely touches the controversies involved.

Oh I agree they shouldn't get funding, I meant it's a shame we won't get a good sequel.

"Shadows of the Eternals has been plagued with controversy since its announcement. Precursor started accepting donations for its game outside of Kickstarter, money that wouldn't be returned if the project didn't reach fruition. A few months later, one of Precursor's founding members, Ken McCulloch, was arrested for the possession of child pornography."

Jesus, that's some effed up ish.
