How's your Netflix quality?

#1structural98Posted 8/5/2014 11:56:15 AM
I'm still getting pretty low quality streaming from Netflix on my X1. It's typically higher quality on my 360 which is using wifi while my X1 is hardwired. I'm curious if anyone else is finding the streaming quality of Netflix on the X1 to be lackluster compared to other devices.

Interestingly, I've bought a couple of Archer episodes from the Xbox TV app to compare to Netflix and the quality is night/day. The episodes through XTV are crystal HD and the exact same episodes through Netflix are quite grainy. I suppose there could be several reasons for this, but it sure would be nice to be able to watch programs with a quality picture through Netflix on X1.

I still use my Wii U. The quality has improved on my X1 over the past couple of months, but still isn't great by any means.

My Netflix is horrible as well. I also use Amazon Instant Video and Vudu on my X1 and the quality on those apps are outstanding. Full HD instantly. Either my ISP is throttling netflix or the netflix app on the X1 is horrible. I had good HD streams on Netflix on my 360, but I don't have it anymore to check it out.

I'm in the exact same situation. Any other video I see looks great except for Netflix. I watch the wwe network on my one and it looks great. Who do we complain about this to?

Whenever i start streaming it is always low quality, but that quickly rectifies itself with like 2-5 seconds. Never had an issue beyond that. Make sure your xbox is behind your DMZ on your router or the correct ports are open.

It is just really weird that EVERY other streaming app would be fine and Netflix would have a problem...even if it were NAT issues you would think other apps would have similar problems.

Mine is great, crystal clean...i have 38 down 10 up .and I dont run my X1 on wifi...

I also have my router settings to prioritize bandwidth speed to one since I do have other devices.

So idk what it could be for you guys....could be different things.
