This is a PSX: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSX_(video_game_console) |||| It's not a PS1!!!!!!!!

You realise all you do when you make this your sig is show how young you are right? If you actually were a gamer when the PSX released you'd also call it the PSX because that's what everybody and magazines called it. Sure, Sony made another console call the PSX many years later but that's pretty irrelevant, especially considering how limited of a run it had and how it never left Japan.

There are actually some older hipsters that like to say "PSX iznt PS1 lel!" because it's like some kind of way they can be "right". It's really sad. Most of them are kids though.

Is it just me or did they turn the brightness way up because the pics from that article look terrible compared to what the game actually looks like on the Xbox One:

We can't benchmark with Ryse...

Most of the games are toned down so they can be multi-plat. Which is unfortunate for top tier gaming PCs, as there isn't too much that can test the limits other than high fidelity games at 4k.

So they're going to tone down a game that's being optimized for PC? I don't follow.

Damn. That looks really good on PC. Finally our PC friends can have a new game to benchmark with. We only share the most impressive (best visuals this gen hands down no contest) with our friends.

Ryse won't be used for any benchmarks as it's not very impressive.

The best graphics cards barely go over 30fps in 2k resolutions.
Unless you invest in a fortune of graphics cards.

You can forget about 4k resolutions for a while.

That's a bad performance chart since they were using maximum AA and Nvidia physx. If you turn AA down to something reasonable you'll almost double your frame rate. A single 780 Ti can do 60 fps gaming at 2560x1440 with maximum or very high settings just fine. You just have to not be stupid with the AA as it's not needed as much at that resolution anyway.

You do realise they probably use 8x MSAA right? An extremely intense form of AA, the hardest outside of supersampling. Iirc Titanfall has 2x and that's 1408x792 isn't it? Almost 4x the res, playing Crysis 3 max settings is very impressive. at 30fps. Oh and er...

40fps in 4k, Crysis 3 max settings. Metro:LL is 45fps. Just beautiful.

The point of PC gaming is to play on ultra settings.
Not settle for mediocre limitations.

Well, I'm 26, and I did have and play the original Playstation, and its slim release. I have never called it the PSX, nor did I ever know anyone who also called it the PSX. I also bought various Playstation magazines back then as well, and I never saw it referred to as the PSX. Even if they did, it hardly matters, because I still never knew anyone who called it the PSX.

We said Playstation, or, once the Playstation 2 was released, Playstation 1/One.
