X1 owners, did you buy Ryse?

No. I will pick it up when it is $5, like I do with every other single player focused game.

I only buy multiplayer games for over $20.

Bought it used for $30 I believe in February. It was decent 1 play through, co op was ok. Felt unfinished or like it was rushed out. I would buy ryse 2 used, its worth playing once.

^^Yea, this. I played it at a buddies house and it *looks* great but after the novelty wears off you realize how much of a shallow game it is. The combat gets boring and repetitive rather quickly. It's not that the game is pure crap or anything, it's just "ok". It's just that I don't spend $60 on games that are just "ok". If I find it for under $10 on Games on Demand I'd probably think about it..

I enjoyed it. Fan of Roman stuff and big battles. Would agree its likely a one play through game for most peoples tastes though.

I plan to go back and play the harder setting once unlocked (still haven't done last mission) not even tried multiplayer.

It has it's flaws and isn't for everyone but I think it's under rated. For me I'd score it a 7.5, maybe 8. If you haven't tried it and find the concept interesting it's worth a go for a low price. Also play it on the hardest setting it lets you start on, makes for a better challenge!

I am not really into the whole Roman Times combat with gladiators, arrow storms, etc. If it was Assassin's Creed, then sure.

Ryse is a good game. Not great. But certainly not awful.

I bought it but not at launch.

After seeing gameplay vids I really wanted it, but it got some terrible reviews across the board.

People on gamefaqs were saying it was good despite the reviews, so eventually I bought it and really enjoyed it.

Ryse didn't "flop" due to lack of xbox one hardware sales, due to the xbox one being inferior to the PS4 or anything like that, it flopped because the majority of reviews at launch seemed to put people off the game.
If it wasn't for word of mouth I'd probably never have bought it.
