Something like that would probably give the advantage over the ps4 but would MS lose more money in the long run?

From losing a huge chunk the non devoted hardcore xbox fans to the ps4, which in turn will result in less money for MS, which makes xbox less lucrative, which in turn results in less exclusives and money to develop games. Which in turn has more consequences like diminishing microsoft's relevance in the console industry.

That's a damned good idea TC, but MS is already losing a lot of money...I'm guessing from the bundles and whatnot.

It would make a difference but Xbox One doesn't need to be saved, the console is doing fine.

They're still doing fine and people will buy both. They don't have to win to be successful. I'm no fanboy, I'll own both, you guys are getting a little to excited about it not selling more then competitors.

No.

Because MS makes most of it's money from the Xbox 360 and One that way.

Think of it like this: You make a console at a near break-even point. You do not profit off console sales. Your hope is that those who buy your console in turn buy your GAMES. Its quite possible that those buyers may NEVER buy a MS game though. So in order to get money from those customers, as well as a continual revenue stream from hopefully ALL XBone purchasers, the XBL service fee exists.

Sony saw how much MS was making off of Xbox Live. That's why they switched. Cutting off a major and recurring revenue stream will NEVER save your business.
