What's the last game you played where you truly cared for the protagonist?

Delita, from Final Fantasy Tactics. He had such a promising future, even for a commoner. Then everything was taken away from him with the murder of his sister. Then the climb to power, and the spiral into loneliness.
Why settle for 2 birds with one stone, when you can get a whole bunch with one hand grenade GT: zxGhostRavenxz

Caring is too strong a word, more like I found myself interested in their story.

I was going to go older, but, honestly, Murdered: Soul Suspect. Not the best game (not bad, just not spectacular) but it does have an interesting protagonist.

Mass Effect 1.

And I had stopped caring by the end of Mass Effect 2.

Halo 4 and Last of Us.

Halo 4 really got me on the mission Composer and throughout the end (that cut ending scene with Lasky was perfect for Master Chief).

And Last of Us, crap dude that game stressed me out like no other. I really got into it and the winter chapter was absolutely fantastic.
