Battlefield - World War II

The the setting of a military shooter doesn't really effect how interesting it is to me. Conceptually, it's tired. Putting it in the past, present or future wont change that unless it's incredibly stylized and different.

Regardless, the gameplay is what's most important

Well when was the last time we've actually had a recent WWII?

If we're talking WW2 games based on historical events, World At War and Hell's Highway in 2008 for console and Red Orchestra 2 in 2011 for pc were the latest I could find.

I was really excited when that World at War II leak came out on Amazon. I'm itching for a next gen WWII game

I was excited too. The last Call of Duty game I purchased was Black Ops.

Yes, would love to see a BF Vietnam or 1942 remake. There more likely to jump on the futuristic fps banwagon then remake 2142.

Since both consoles have blu ray, what's stopping them from giving as many maps as battlefield 1942 (pc)? That had tons of maps.

I can see DICE copying Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare & Titanfall.

I'd rather see them go straight past CoD:AW and TF, and go straight to a BF:2142 remake I loved that game. if my memory serves me correctly wasn't 2142 the first BF game where you could knife and take the other players dog tags?

You could knife in bf2 (pc), but I can't remember if that came out before 2142.

This makes sense. Why not?

New consoles playing old games seems to be the standard this gen.

I'd play it, but what I want is Battlefield 2143.

I have no interest in playing a full-fledged Battlefield 2142 remake. I would rather see DICE make it though instead of developing another modern Battlefield game.
