Isn't Driveclub free on PS4 ?

FH2 is far from in trouble, it's going to destroy DC. Being that it's open-world, and has way more things to do. Graphics are good in both games, but DC couldn't pull those off if it was open-world. FH2 is doing a lot more.

The argument for Forza taking the throne is comparing what each series has done since they both co-existed. Early GTs were the only good racing sims and it dominated. However since 2005 when Forza came into the fray it has put out 2 more games and reached higher quality on average even with more games (and one obvious rush job with FM5 to meet a console's launch).

F1 meta 92
F2 meta 90
F3 meta 92
F4 meta 91
F5 meta 80

GT4 meta 89
GT5 meta 84
GT6 meta 81

GT : 84.6
FM: 89.0

A Gran Turismo game hasn't even scored a 90 since 2005 according to the scores you posted while Forza has churned out more 90+ games than Gran Turismo has churned out total games.

So yes, I think it's safe to say Forza came along and took the crown. They raised the bar, and GT has yet to reach it since.

And those 3 GT games still sold way more than all 5 Forza games. So obviously the gamers wanted GT more.

Gran Turismo is the Justin Bieber of racing games because sales = quality.

This completely.

Cod outsells many games. Does that mean it's one of the best out there?

Nope.

What you consider best is subjective. 2-4m sales compared to 10-11m sales isn't subjective. I never said it was better all said is a lot more people like GT as a series compared to Forza. That's not an opinion that's a fact. It's also a fact that the latest releases of both series rated lower than the previous entries.

Just because people bought it does not necessarily mean they liked it.

Cheating has gone hand-in-hand with gaming for centuries. Video games in particular often have cheats built right into the game.

Doesn't mean they didn't either.

Maybe, maybe not. But it does mean that you were wrong when you said that a lot more people liking GT as a series was a fact.

It's safe to say even if half the people didn't like it(that's a stretch) there would still be more people that liked it.
