Would you buy a game you didnt want to support a dev you really like?

No, that sounds really dumb. Supporting a developer I like means buying a game that I want to play from them for full price instead of waiting for a sale like I usually do.

umm hate to break it to you but thief was not made by ubisoft... it was eidos/ square enix....

Maybe so but you need to leave that out. It was free on PS+ this month and it's quite amazing. I'd say its the best 8 bit platformer I have touched including the normals like Mario and that.
