"""Though it's still unconfirmed, it sure sounds like the Xbox One has now sold-through at least 5 million units since the console's launch in November 2013. This would be up from 3 million units sold through the end of the year, meaning Microsoft has shifted at least two million additional consoles so far in 2014."""

At least two million additional Xbox One this year !

I am guessing this is a troll topic but 2 million sold in a year for a new console is really bad

It hasn't sold 2 million in a year. It was released in November last year, it's up to 5 million at the moment. It's sold 2 million consoles in 8 months.

It's doing better than the Wii U this year. Wii U has only sold about 1 million in less than a year, can't see it hitting 2 million by the end of the year.

Yeah in a year 2 million. I mean it was released in November and it is August and it has sold 5 million. Yeah 2 million in a year, great job you math whiz.

1)all these numbers are pulled from peoples anal cavities All of that can stop if Microsoft would simply release actual numbers sold with some regularity.
2)China already put in an order for 5 million X1s for next month so...yeah This means literally nothing in the context of this topic. It could take them ten years to sell that many in china.

Still excited to get my X1 (26 days now!) but there's no need for such vehement defensiveness. MS has been using intentionally vague double speak when it comes to sales numbers, not that is should matter so much to us, and how many units a country orders for a launch is in not indicative of anything here.

Err, I thought Gamespot's sentence was simple enough but there you go :

- """Xbox One has now sold-through at least 5 million units since the console's launch in November 2013"""
- """This would be up from 3 million units sold through the end of the year [2013]"""

So that would be 5 million minus 3 million, hence :

- """meaning Microsoft has shifted at least two million additional consoles so far in 2014"""
