Immersion-killers: What rips you out of the action, personally, when gaming?

Suspension of disbelief is not really a thing we do any longer - when we were once, many moons ago, looking at six pixels supposedly conveying an evil death monster that wanted to eat our character, we had to invest a lot of imagination into gaming - but still, we invested in that monster. Feared him.

It's here that I think most of the nostalgic "magic" comes from, personally - that immersing factor of imagination and investment in your surroundings.

But nowadays, the focus is on eliminating that aspect - and now, it's so much easier to be ripped out of a game, the immersion factor severed.

You can have a sprawling real world with 100 hours of storyline and beautiful normal-maps all you want, but when a character runs in circles because he's got conflicting waypoints, or when the shopkeeper happily allows you to force a basket on her head to blind her to your larceny-fest, the immersion is killed!

Name your top immersion-killers, guys!

Explosives without destructive environment.

Before I see a tripmine kill a bunch of zombies but not even put a dent in any of the walls just don't add them in.

Watched a preview of Evil Within and that just killed any immersion it was ridiculous.

Fps drops. No troll or attack on xb1 but a few years ago my PC was not up to scratch and I'd forever try to play games on higher settings than I had any business playing, and when the action got heavy, the frame rate would drop and I would rage.

Other than that I don't really like comedy in my games, especially in semi serious games.

Progressing really far into a game without finding a save point, then getting killed by some rediculously easy to kill enemy. Yeah, I'm looking at you dark souls. Going through the ruins of Izalith and getting near the bed of chaos with over 2,000,000 souls before I managed to open the shortcut.
Why settle for 2 birds with one stone, when you can get a whole bunch with one hand grenade GT: zxGhostRavenxz

Battlefield 4: start taking a hail of bullets, duck behind cover, die two seconds later.
