This one currently catches my eye. It's USB3.0, 3TBs and it's a decent price. However, I can't find anything about it's RPMs anywhere. What external HDDs do people most recommend on here that have 7200RPM, 3TB, USB3.0 and a relatively easy install (this one I currently have seems to just plug right in).

I'm hoping for something not far off from the price range in the link above if possible. Or if anyone can give info on that, I'd appreciate it.

I bought this one two weeks ago. It plugged right in and the Xbox formatted it in 10 seconds. I was told the RPM on mine is 5200. The one your looking it seems good but I'm no expert on hard drives.

Western Digital and Hitachi seem to be the most recommended for their reliability. And yeah 7200rpm is the way to go if you can swing it. I've also seen a few reports that Seagate has reliabilty issues by comparison.

This is from a newegg review,

Pros:

Internal drive is actually a seagate ST3000DM001 which is the fastest 3TB drive on the market today. Eggstremely fast throughput either thru USB3 or if you remove the drive and hook straight to your SATA III Goodness. When paired with my FX 8120 with 16GB, Radeon 6850, and an 120GB SSD my machine FLIES.

This is the drive...

Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 ST3000DM001 3TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

I see a lot of HDDs that look like this, and I'm worried to buy something that doesn't actually come in a case like the one in my link. That one you linked to looks oddly similar to mine in name, however. Is it?
