I wonder how badly stores sales are doing

I buy digital only when its the only option or when there is a great sale ending up cheaper then physical.

I recently went and cancelled all of my physical preorders and decided to go completely digital this gen. Reasons are..

I only buy games I really want and won't trade in, so the $60 for digital is fine with me.

I don't have to have shelves for games or movies since 100% of my games are digital and about 80% of my movies are digital.

I can share games with my buddy, I got Titanfall from him and he got Diablo 3 from me so we can play both together.

No changing discs, Xbox gets moved around the house a lot so now I just need to move the system and not any games.

I don't have to drag my kid out to the mall just to go to gamestop when I can just buy what I want from the couch.

No more midnight releases at gamestop or having to wait in the lousy lines at gamestop, Now I can just download and install while I'm sleeping or preload depending on the game. Wake up in the morning and it's ready to play...

Convenience is key.

Everybody I game with goes all digital. My guess is younger people go physical so they can trade in games while older gamers go digital for convenience. Over Under 25

Not in my case. I buy physical because I can get games cheaper than digital. I'm not paying $100 for a game when I can go into a store and buy it for $69. Until digital prices fall inline with physical it's just not worth it.

You could just change regions and get games digitally and much cheaper

Literally every single one of those reasons are as to why I have moved to all digital this generation as well! That and I've pretty much have been all digital with every other medium for quite a while. After owning close to 5000 DVD's only to shift over to Bluray and amass another collection, I gave up with physical as it just takes up way too much space trying to organize, display, keep resettable, etc.

You can do that now? On 360 and PS3 I had a US account just so I could get some of the stuff that wasn't available in Australia but that's a hassle. Might have to look into that but I still prefer physical.

Easily, under system settings just pick US restart the console and you have access to the US store, just make up some billing address in North Dakota or some other state w/o taxes on digital goods and you're set.

Awesome. I did the billing address thing too but didn't know about some states having no tax.

I also think for those day 1 purchases pre-loading of games looks awfully nice. I was in the physical camp myself just because i think it is mostly dumb that the MS store and PS store charge so much for digital with barely any sales, well compared to steam at least. But since you have to fully install a game anyways, or most of the way to make sure it doesn't glitch out, then pre-loading looks really nice if you want to play sooner.

Heck yeah! Digital is the way to go! Just like the Xbox One!

There are so many games I bought digitally and am happy because it's not like I would've been sick and tired of them within a few months and would've liked to sell them. Here are some examples:

-Armored Core: Verdict Day
-Titanfall
-Every single CoD for the past 4 years
-Naughty Bear

Fricken epic! <3 Digital!
