Since the X1 is designed to watch TV why didn't MS do this?

I forgot to mention that XBOX ONE degrades picture quality. It's a well known issue and it's the bane of the many TV and AV forums which I go on.

It's due to the data-mining they run the picture through to sell that information to third-parties for corporate enrichment. Why buy a high end TV just to have it ruined in the name of someone else's company profit?

The best thing to avoid picture degradation is run your TV the way it was intended, without the XBOX ONE pass through.
