Fascinating interview with Microsoft on the conception of the incredible XBOX UI

NuAds never happened. It was talked about. Advertisers wanted it, but it didn't happen. I'm not saying there's no chance of it happening in the future, just so far it doesn't exist.

Also, I have yet to see an ad for anything I can't play or purchase on my Xbox One, which is fine.

I'm literally trying to remember even seeing an add that wasn't MS related (Future games, DLC, etc) on my X-1 but maybe that is just me. Is there a special ad page or something on the UI?
---
I will try and see it from your point of view, but I doubt we'll be able to fit both our heads up there.

These accusations always come from people who don't own the console. It's not surprising how misinformed they are.

You didn't know? Articles are the only real evidence. Having an Xbox one automatically makes you a fanboy and facts don't apply here.

The game is crowded with bright colors, an excitable narrator, a hard-ass trainer, prompts to buy perks for your character and ads for State Farm.

I'm fairly certain insurances aren't related to or can be played on the Xbox.

But don't worry, more Nuads are coming, it's not there yet because there simply aren't enough consoles in people's homes.

“I think the advertising platform is most likely less of a priority for the Xbox One team, they need to get more devices into more homes,” said Brandon Berger, Chief Digital Officer, Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide. “It still feels like a small distribution of devices, which may make advertising less of a priority given the audience size.”

And since the audience size for Xbox One isn’t there yet, delivering advertising campaigns is challenging, said Dario Raciti, gaming specialist at the agency OMD. “Getting enough inventory is a problem.”

I never notice the advertising. Of course I'm usually just telling my Xbox what I want to do so I don't really need to look at al the boxes on the screen. It's nice to instantly go from TV to game to pandora without even having to be in the room.

I still have yet to see any, but if that article is accurate, that's messed up. However, there's none on the OS or in any of the many games I own, so there's that.

Ok...I thought maybe somehow I blocked them as this thread and that article makes it sound like you couldn't even do anything because of all the ads.

I should have known it was pathetic troll fodder.

Not yet, they're coming once enough people buy the console.
They're already in games, there is no doubt they're coming to the UI as well.

The main reason they're not there yet, is because they don't want to scare away any potential buyers right now.

Kinect sports on the 360 had them as well, if I remember correctly.

Also "they're already in games" doesn't necessarily mean "they're in multiple games", it simply means they are already used in games.
Read the entire sentence.
