How does Rewind work?

Does it simply rewind the entire episode, or does it let you choose how far to go back? I'm afraid to try it and get stuck at the beginning and lose 3 hours

Click it, it gives you the option where to rewind to, i actually just used this option for Chapter 3 with the fight
