I piecked 2-D platformer. Hopefully it'll be like Yoshi's Island DS, except we get all babies fairly early in the game and when we visit a stork stop, which there should be one at the beginning of every level and another in the middle of every level, we can chose any of the babies we have unlocked.
Miyamoto recently said he wanted to make an FPS, and a game where you play as Yoshi and shoot eggs at enemies would be pretty cool.
I actually just remembered the game Yoshi's Safari for the SNES. I only put FPS on the list as a joke, but then I remembered that there actually has been a Yoshi FPS before (kind of). I like your idea about the eggs.

Yeah. You played as Mario, I think (although you never really saw him), and rode on Yoshi's back and shot Koopas, Goombas, etc. with the Super Scope. Yoshi automatically ran for you. It wasn't exactly a FPS, but it was pretty cool.
An FPS game should be the newest iteration of StarFox. With Assault they went in a new direction (that obviously stirred alot of dissent with its moving away from the classic arwing/landmaster gameplay) but I really enjoyed it, if they expand on it and flesh it out I think that it has the potential as an FPS or a 3rdPS to compete with games like Halo in a pure Nintendo package. Which is something we cant get enough of :P
But sticking to the topic at hand, I loved Yoshis Island (SNES/GBA) the best. Ive always loved Yoshi, but they do need to progress further away from sticking to the 2D platformer mechanic. Yoshi would have some interesting controls in a 3D platformer (I havent played enough Galaxy 2 to get any Yoshis yet, my disk drive burnt out over a year or 2 ago and Im just finally getting back to the Wii games I missed out on)..
Im excited, In the nexct 2-3 years well get some amazing Nintendo games. I just hope they pay attention to the details and use those 25gbs as much as possible.
