So there's some treasure above the mummy that kicks the explosive barrel towards you which opens the way to Mcguffin or w/e his name is. How on earth do you reach it? I've gone past the door requiring the antiquated key and haven't found anything that leads to it.

There's a part later in the level where you open a secret door that opens into a long diagonal hallway. There's another secret door within this hallway that opens onto a roof area. From this roof area you drop down onto a ledge and have to walk along it all the way to where that item is.

Is this past the 3 sentinel boss room or past the lockstone door?

I found the first secret door but just leads to a dead end. I'm pressing X everywhere and nothing happens. What gives?

It's not at the end. If you're facing the dead end, it's on the left side of the hallway.
