Gon Freecs is the son of the famous Hunter, Ging Freecss, and is on a quest to find his father. Gon is an athletic, rustic, and friendly boy. Also, he isn't very good at math. However, having spent a lot of time in the woods as a child, he is very good with animals. Gon is an Enhancer, who are known for being simple-minded and determined. This determination and talent leads to both potential allies and potential enemies trusting in him and taking his side. He has inhuman senses; Gon has a heightened sense of smell almost like a dog and has very good vision, as well as having very keen taste. Gon wants to become a Hunter because he wishes to find out the depths of an occupation that would cause a father to choose the profession over being with his own son.
6/10 I don't like his personality, so that's a big minus for him. He's a reckless, selfish and cocky little brat. He doesn't realize when the opponent is far stronger or even after he knows the opponent is stronger than him and he still refuses to accept himself as inferior to any opponent that he disagrees with.
I could imagine Zebra said this to him "Don't be cocky kid!!!"

A man's sword isn't a thing that can be kept in his underwear, its something that should rest in a scabbard known as a girl.
9/10. Kid Goku + Kid/Cell Games Gohan, but he doesn't exactly excel in any one thing imo. Still a great character and is tied with Toriko and Ippo as my 2nd fav main character in modern shonen right now (Gintoki is ahead of all 3). To me, he's that one character I really enjoy seeing grow and if HxH ever finishes and he matures into a man, I'll be so happy lol T T
Greatest character development in any series... I mean Jesus just watch the latest episode with Gon and Pitou... one of the best episodes in the series doesn't have any fighting at all. So much emotion and incredible animation with Gon last week.
He mostly acts like your regular shounen protagonist. He's not that smart, always excited to fight, and wants to get stronger. He takes his time to train, and he grows with every new experience. I actually felt bad for him when he lost to Knuckle and he started crying because he felt so weak.
He isn't the best character, but he's pretty interesting.
