Do you think we'll be able to transfer old pokemon?

Too hard to say.

On one hand, a fresh start would allow for an easier revamp of the series as a whole. Battle, breeding, and type mechanics can be reworked for more balance. But losing all of our precious Pokemon we have had for years will be depressing.

On the other, allowing for transfer could make the game feel too similar to the past. I am not saying that this formula is bad, as I have enjoyed it for years.

Who knows what will happen. The last few years they have completely suprised me with their decisions. First a sequel to a main series game and now a worldwide release? I await their every decision.

I am pretty sure they will have some new area to get a lot of the Pokemon after you beat the main game

The third-gen reboot was done primarily due to hardware incompatibility. As Dragon Quest Monsters has already proved, DS-to-3DS compatibility is not an issue.

123% hopeful we can't. We need a fresh start. Plus I mean the irony of a possible Gen 3 remake in the same Gen as another lock-out. Hehe it be amusing.

doubtful though.

I hope not because with a reboot they can do things like rebalance pokemon stats, fix/update move sets (gyarados learns thunderbolt what?), maybe change the levels of some pokemon evolutions (ex. hydreigon and volcarona), change weaknesses and strengths of types if needed and maybe remove IVs.

Depens if we are getting new types or not.

After you beat the game, you'll most likely get access to a Pal Park or similar location

I hope not. I really want a fresh start where everyone in on the same playing field.
