Actually, almost every version that comes in pairs except Diamond and Pearl were actually Red and Blue in disguise. Gold is actually yellow and red (just like Ho-oh) and Silver is grayish white and blue (just like Lugia). Ruby is red as Sapphire is blue and Black's mascot, Zekrom, has blue thunder while White's mascot, Reshiram, has red flames. The same thing happens in B2 and W2, as the fused versions still maintain the blue thunders and red flames.

Now we have a blue X and a red Y. We've actually had two versions the entire time.

This is confusing =/

It's not complicated, really. I'm just saying that every pair of Pokemon games (Gold and Silver, Ruby and Sapphire, Diamond and Pearl, Black and White) all have some Red and Blue to them. I've just noticed that Diamond has a blue light on the cover, while Pearl has a red light.

They've ran out of colors to choose a looong time ago.

Diamond and Pearl also qualify; Diamond's mascot is blue while Pearl's is pink, and pink is just a light shade of red.
