I really think that these look like a massive step up from any previous games and it really reminds me of the Dragon Quest Monsters Joker games. (As in the graphical style, not the entire game) --- http://www.youtube.com/user/Shrooboid313?feature=mhee Please check out my YouTube channel.
Yeah, they honestly did everything right at first glance. I remember back when people were speculating, talking about possible rumors of doing everything cel-shaded and what not. But it still distinctively looks like Pokemon.

I'll admit, even though I'd have been fine with the same old design, I'm absolutely loving this 3D look. --- I am The Defender of Darkness. The Knight of Nothingness. The Master of Murkiness. I am the Keeper of Shadows, AND I WILL RULE YOU!!
I don't know, it kind of reminds me of the DS version of Final Fantasy IV, in which the 3D graphics managed to turn everything into one big, soulless mess. Boy, was I glad they released it again on the PSP with gorgeous sprites and sharp backgrounds.
But at least they used cell-shading for the pokémon themselves, so I guess it's not all bad.
Looks like FF7. Horrible. I miss the sprites already.
So it begins...the split between fans. I'm looking forward to it and I cannot wait to get my hands on a 3DS, been saving for awhile and now I have an even better reason to get it.
I am worried about the effect of it being a 3D game, will fans accept it or will they tarnish it as inferior to the previous games because they used sprites. I don't mind if its in 3D or 2D, but the 3D is different and thats what is exciting I think. --- Video Game Design Graduate - University Campus Suffolk - Class of 2012
