Err... why do you think it's rushed? That extra year would have only been for Ruby & Sapphire, not like Unova or Gen 5 would have been expanded in any way.

Generation V was the best.

They went through it fairly fast but I want them to do that rather than drag things out with remakes I don't really want. --- PSN: TheUndying84

The part that makes it seem rushed is that Keldeo/Genesect/Meloetta feel kind of jammed together.
It's perfectly normal for a rather compact generation.

I'm not sure they could've really done it much differently. By Gen V being on the DS, it pretty much had to be cut a year or so short because of the 3DS, and if they had waited for Gen V to be on the 3DS, that would've dragged out Gen IV way too long. --- http://i50.tinypic.com/23qx00.jpg "First time I got punched in the face, I was like "oh no", then I was like "this is a story"."

The fact that Gen V was purposefully being rushed in 2012 was the reason many began suspecting the Gen VI was coming. Look at all the signs in 2012:
- Keldeo, Meloetta, AND Genesect were all released in Japan. - Meloetta doesn't get a movie; relegated to short in Keldeo film and recurring anime role. - Ash obtaining badges in Unova at an unprecedented pace. - Related to above, the Unova League starting and ending so soon.
They wouldn't be throwing away so many possibilities to extend the generation to four years unless they were trying to get it out of the way as soon as possible. --- [Este mensaje fue borrado al deseo del dueno]

Rushed as in the quality of the games? No.
But I do feel as if another year could have gone by before we got Gen 6. Really though, it was pretty much their only option. Gen 5 came during an awkward transition from the DS to the 3DS and I'm sure they would rather show off their shiny new engine with Gen 6 rather than an R/S/E remake. --- This is the internet, all opinions are considered invalid.

In Japan the first two generation gaps were 3 years and the next two were each 4 years. However, those two both had remakes involved.
As such, this 3 year gap (Japan-wise) is entirely consistent with the no-remake gens. So no, it's not rushed. --- 3DS FC: 3050-7685-5267 PM me if you wanna play a match with me in Mario Tennis Open.

It was the first Gen to not get its own Stadium style game so yeah, I feel it was a bit rushed.
