Well seeing as I enjoy picking one team early and running with it I would have an awesome team by the end.

Also I would like pokemon learning signature moves via happiness. It gives a reason to raise it.

Unless they change it a lot, not much because happiness can only really go up(Walking, winning battles, using items vs. Bitter Healing items and fainting). It's literally a challenge to reduce it and especially maintain it at 0(due to walking increasing it) hence why no one uses Frustration instead of Return.

One of the features is "Pokemon becomes stronger as your bonds between the Pokemons increase"

So happiness could very well be a mechanic

Make it have a more significant effect in game, but not battle wise.

I wouldn't be surprised. They seem to heavilly be hinting at that, or whatever "The bond between you and your pokemon" could be. It could end up being a major part of the pokemon gameplay, for good or for bad
